Jayashee is a teacher having a variety of interests. She writes short stories, poems and takes part in Kaviyarangu. Jayashree is an active participant in literary gatherings and discussions. She was born on 23rd June, 1955 and her native place is Mayannur in Trissur district. She is a member of the Purogamana Sahithya Sangham”.She has won Navakam award and K.S.K.T.A award for her stories and poems. Jayshree’s short story “Shunyam” is included in this book. Her stories talk about the hidden mysteries of the stream of awareness. The story Shunyam offers a cornucopia of strange imaginations rising out of dreams. The language and images diving deep into the abyss of death and the dreadful mysteries revolving around it attributes uniqueness to her story. The writer dreaming about lying in the lap of her mother who is no more is suddenly shocked by the terror of the scene and bolts away. The immobile eyelids, strange voices and closing white doors are transformed into the ultimate experiences of the writer.
